For years, Feb and March were incredibly rough months. Seasonal depression was a real thing for me. It began in my late teens and lasted through the first yr after we moved to our little farmstead.The first winter we lived here, I had a newborn who still to this day challenges everything I know about parenting. I remember laying him in a safe place to cry while I went outside and ripped apart pallets. The pallet project never materialized but it did preserve my sanity that winter.But, I've not had SAD in the same way ever since. Why? Probably because even though winter is a time to rest, it's also a time to plan when you have a homestead!Planning the garden. Planting seeds and sewing all the plant babies popping up. Hatching eggs and seeing the baby chicks grow. Going outside with the children and working on various projects during nice days...Truly, this is a blessed life we're living.
